Based on random choice or personal whim, rather than any reason or system.
Example: This decision was completely arbitrary.

noun
Prejudice in favor of or against one thing, person, or group compared with another, usually in a way considered to be unfair.
Example: This bad police officer has biases: he only arrests racialized people.

A formal judgment.
Example: The judge's decision was later appealed.

The official power to make legal decisions and judgments.
Example: Education is of provincial jurisdiction in Canada.
